As the newly released Pokemon GO nearby feature tracker is being rolled out to the rest of the continental United States and large parts of Europe, Niantic released another update for their tracker.
How Does it Work?
After the release and expansion of the new nearby tracker to some countries, Pokemon GO players are filled with disappointments for the new tracker. As we all know, the new nearby tracker focuses only on showing Pokémon near Pokéstops and it ignores the potential Pokemon spawns near the players’ current position. Rural players are the most affected with this new tracker.
As of writing, Niantic released a new update for the new Pokemon GO tracker. This is a server-side update, so players may not realize that the new update is being rolled out.
With the release of the new update for the tracker, Pokemon GO players will now get the old sightings feature if there are no Pokestops nearby. Instead of using the default nearby tracker that only scan and shows Pokemon that are near to the Pokestop, players will get the old sightings tracker. This is a good news for rural players since they are the most affected of the new tracker.
Increased in Pokemon Sightings Range?
With the release of the new update, some Pokemon GO players are claiming that the sightings range has increased. However, finding and catching this Pokemon did not change. Reports also claim that the new update has been improved a lot especially revealing Pokemon nest nearby.
